Clean air filter solutions
Indoor air contaminant control is a must for industries requiring safe and clean spaces for healthcare or manufacturing. Large or small air borne contaminated particles or molecules are required to be removed from the air within the space. The filers that perform this task are:
- HEPA – High-efficiency particulate air filters are designed to physically capture and remove particles from the air that passes through it. 99.97% of particles that have a size of 0.3 µm or larger
- UPLA – Ultra-low penetration air filters are specified to remove dust, pollen, mold, bacteria and any airborne particles. 99.999% of contaminants 0.12 μm or larger.
HEPA filters are critical for capturing particles and contaminants such as bacterial and viral organisms dust and dust mites. Generally HEPA filtration is a stronger filter system and is used for obtaining sterile spaces. They may also incorporate high-energy germicide ultra-violet light
Health care and sterile store rooms
There are different levels of mechanical ventilation in buildings and air cleaning. Australian standards have recommendations that must be complied to when assessing and setting up ventilation of enclosures used for healthcare functions, sterile store and set up rooms.
Australian standards require that air supplied to operating theatres and sterile store and set-up rooms is not recirculated from any other space or enclosure type. Additionally the air supplied is required to be filtered, using (HEPA) filters in accordance with AS 4260 Type 1 Class A Grade 2 with a minimum efficiency of 99.99%.
